An occasion to celebrate

One of the most beautiful traditions in Dunsborough is our Easter Dawn Service, where churches from across the community come together in unity to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. This year, Capes Community Church was honoured to join Dunsborough Church of Christ, Our Lady of the Southern Cross, and St George’s Anglican Church in a gathering that has been a treasured tradition for over 20 years. It was a powerful reminder that we are not just one congregation—we are part of something greater, a Church that spans denominations, communities, and generations.

This deep sense of connection is something we are celebrating in a special way this Sunday. Recently, we received our provisional certificate of fellowship with Australian Christian Churches (ACC)—a milestone marking the journey we’ve taken to establish Capes Community Church here in Dunsborough.

To mark this incredible occasion, we’re hosting “We’re Part of Something Bigger” Sunday—a time to rejoice in what God is doing in and through us. We’ll gather for worship and then share a catered lunch together, embracing the joy of community and fellowship.

We’re also welcoming special guest Peter Hammer from Harvestnet, the church-planting organization that helped us get established. Harvestnet’s support has been invaluable, and Peter’s presence on Sunday reminds us of the wider movement that has encouraged and strengthened us.

Our connection to the larger body of Christ extends not just locally but across Australia and the world. Being part of Australian Christian Churches (ACC) means standing alongside a movement of over 1,000 churches nationwide, dedicated to spreading the gospel, making disciples, and building strong, Spirit-led communities. ACC is committed to empowering churches to thrive, equipping leaders, and fostering a culture of faith, worship, and mission. This fellowship opens doors for partnerships, mentorship, and opportunities to serve both locally and globally—something we are deeply excited about.

So, as we step into this next chapter, let’s celebrate together! Join us this Sunday as we honour God’s faithfulness, recognize the journey that brought us here, and embrace the beautiful reality that we are part of something much bigger than ourselves.

We can’t wait to see you there!
